Don't know where to start with choosing your wedding flowers? We have a guide to help you get started.
1. Budget
Always sit down and figure out what your flower budget will be. It will determine the types of flowers, size of arrangements, and how many you can afford for your wedding. Traditionally 10% of your wedding budget should be dedicated to your florals.
2. Let your venue influence your flowers
If your getting married in a beautiful rustic barn, loosely tied soft muted colors make great rustic accent florals. likewise, if your getting married outside in a garden, smaller arrangements that compliment the flowers already there are a great option.
3. Bring your inspiration
Images are a great way to communicate with your florist about what you are looking for. Show us your Pinterest pics and vision boards, or bring a fabric swatch as a great starting place.
We love it when your bring and share your inspiration with us, but do not expect and exact replica, we strive to make your flowers your in there own unique way. Make sure to communicate your favorite parts about your inspiration, but be open to modifications.
4. Certain flowers and styles create different feels
Your flowers can reflect your wedding style and feel. loose clusters of colorful flowers mixed with lots of types of greenery bring a rustic feel to your wedding; while tighter bunches of more traditional flower such as peonies or roses, give a classical feel.
5. Flower colors
While real flowers have specific colors ( most do come in wide variety), with Sola wood flowers, any flower can be any color. You are only limited by your imagination.
Just like flower types, color can evoke different feelings/moods. Pastels are very feminine, while soft green and white fell timeless and elegant.
6. Bring meaning to your flowers
Look for ways to bring meaning to your flowers. Pick flowers that have a meaning to you or a loved one, or look for the meanings to certain types of flowers( red tulips mean love ). Also, you can add meaning by adding something special to your bouquet. A family brooch pinned to your bouquet, a lace hankie wrapped into your stems, or a small picture of a lost loved one tied to the handle.
7. Flowers aren't just bouquets and centerpieces.
Don't forget that wedding flowers can be more than just your bouquets, boutonnieres, and centerpieces. Flowers make a great frame for your alter pics; or on your cake or card tables.
8. last but not least, have fun with it!
